Empowering Communities for Sustainable Livelihoods

Empowering Communities for Sustainable Livelihoods

We at NORPRA are excited to announce the launch of our Community Adaptation for Sustainable Livelihoods Project, funded by the West Africa Science Service Center on Climate Change & Adapted Land Use (WASCAL). This project aims to bring transformative change to the Nabdam District in the Upper East Region of Ghana.

Supporting Women and Youth Farmers
As part of the project activities, we have delivered incubators to the communities of Kongo and Zanlerigu. These incubators will help women and youth farmer groups engage in poultry farming, a critical step in enhancing local food production and economic empowerment.

Ensuring Sustainable Water Supply for Agriculture
In addition, the project will provide a mechanized borehole to support dry season farming. This initiative allows farmers to move beyond the limitations of rain-fed agriculture, increasing productivity and ensuring food security throughout the year.

Agro-Processing Training for Market-Ready Products
To further empower women beneficiaries, the project will offer technical training in agro-processing, led by food scientists and technologists. This training will equip women with the skills needed to produce high-quality food products that meet both local and international market standards.

Gratitude and Partnership
We extend our heartfelt thanks to WASCAL for their generous support in making this project a reality. Our appreciation also goes out to the leaders of the Kongo and Zanlerigu communities, as well as the women and youth farmer groups, for embracing this initiative with enthusiasm and commitment.

Together, we are building a future of sustainable livelihoods, food security, and economic resilience in the Nabdam District.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
